An eight-week course cultivating self-compassion and compassion for others.
The Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC) is a weekly mindfulness course consisting of eight two-hour classes, drawing on insights and practices from neuroscience, evolutionary psychology and Mahayana Buddhism.
This secular course starts by building self-compassion into basic mindfulness practice, using compassionate imagery and mindful self-compassion to cultivate positive emotions and address the inner self-critic.
The course then moves from self-compassion towards compassion for others, with home practice suggestions between sessions including regular compassion practice and daily life exercises.
